This course takes an hour to complete and is suitable for all those who work, or volunteer, directly with children, young people, their families and /or carers in all sectors

Learning outcomes

By the end of the course learners will be able to:

tickDescribe appropriately the signs and symptoms of the possible abuse or neglect of the children and young people with whom they come into contact.

tickExplain which individuals, organisations and reference documents they should refer to, and take advice from, if concerned about a child or young person's wellbeing.

tickExplain how to respond to concerns, what to do in the event of a disclosure of abuse and how to record

tickName who they should refer to when there is a child abuse concern, including whistle blowing

tickDescribe how they might fulfil "duty of care"

tickCarry out safeguarding risk assessments of their working practices to help keep children and young people safe
