Basic DBS checks are available directly to applicants (not employers) online via the Government website. Their system is very easy to follow and the total fee is currently £23.00.
To apply for a basic DBS check you will need:
- all your addresses for the last 5 years and the dates you lived there
- your National Insurance number
- your passport
- your driving licence
SAFEcic do not offer to process Basic DBS checks as we would have to charge a fee to cover our administration costs. These checks are designed to be simple and free for people to do it themselves.
If you are looking for a "Responsible Organisation" to manage your staff's Basic DBS checks, you can find one through the government website.
